2008 KANATA CUP INVITATIONAL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS
The weekend of February 16-17, 2007 marked the 14th annual
Kanata Cup Invitational Rhythmic Gymnastics competition, which was hosted by the Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics
Club. The event attracted over 100 gymnasts from five clubs in Ontario and included competitors
from all 3 streams in both the Provincial and InterClub level.
This year's Kanata Cup celebrated the 33rd anniversary of the KRSG Club. Dasa Lelli, who remains the Head Coach, founded the club in 1975.
In the Provincial Individual level, the seventeen gymnasts from the Kanata RSG
Club all gave very commanding performances, winning twenty gold,
eight silver and six bronze medals, for a total of thirty-four medals.

Brianna won GOLD overall after winning GOLD in Choice Apparatus (Hoop), GOLD in Clubs and GOLD in Rope. |

Breanna won GOLD overall after winning GOLD in Choice Apparatus (Rope), GOLD in Clubs and GOLD in Hoop. |

In the Provincial Group level competition the 2 Duos from the Kanata RSG Club won 2 Golds.
In Novice Duo/Trio level, The Kanata M&Ms Duo (Megan and Myranda) won GOLD.
In Senior Duo/Trio level, The Kanata Senior Duo (Breanna and Emily) won GOLD.
In the Provincial AGG Level competition the 3 Groups from the Kanata RSG Club won 2 Golds and 1 Silver
In the Child level, the Kanata Children Group (Baylianne, Donya, Julia, Marie, Melinda and Sarah), won GOLD.
In the Pre-Novice level, the Kanata Pre-Novice Group (Christine, Jenna, Megan, Myranda, Sarah and Zoë), won SILVER.
In the Junior level, the Kanata Junior Group, (Breanna, Brianna, Caitlin, Emily, Lauren and Lucinda), won GOLD. |
In the InterClub Individual level, the fourteen gymnasts from the Kanata RSG Club won 2 Golds, 1 Silver and 1 Bronze medal.

In the InterClub Group level competition the 2 Duos from the Kanata RSG Club won 2 Golds.
The level 3 Kanata Duo (Danica and Laura) won GOLD with their Ball routine.
The level 5 Kanata Duo (Helen and Timea) won GOLD with their Hoop routine.
In the InterClub AGG Level competition the 2 Groups from the Kanata RSG Club won 1 Gold, 2 Silvers and 1 Bronze
In InterClub AGG Level 2 the Kanata Energy won GOLD with their Free routine.
In InterClub AGG Level 3, the Kanata Spirit won SILVER overall after winning BRONZE in Free and SILVER in Creative. |
At the end of the second day of competition the gymnasts from the Kanata RSG Club won
29 Gold, 12 Silver, 8 Bronze, 7 - 4th Place, 10 - 5th Place, 6 - 6th Place, 6 - 7th Place and 4 - 8th Places Ribbons for a total of 49 medals and 33 4th-8th Ribbons.
The team from The Kanata Rhythmic Gymnastics Club won the Kanata Cup Overall Team Trophy with a total of 166.8 points to Ottawa Rhythmic Gymnastics Club's 162.075 points.
The competition was held at Bridlewood Elementary School, located at 63 Bluegrass Drive in Kanata.
