2005 KANATA CUP INVITATIONAL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!
The weekend of February 19-20, 2005 marked the annual Kanata Cup Invitational Rhythmic Gymnastics
competition, which was hosted by the Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Club. The event attracted 92 gymnasts from nine clubs in
Ontario and Quebec.
This year’s Kanata Cup celebrated the 30th anniversary of the KRSG Club. The club was founded in
1975 by Dasa Lelli, who remains the Head Coach.
The eight gymnasts from the KRSG Club gave strong performances at the Competition, winning
seven gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals for a total of twenty-one medals.
In group competition, the Kanata Junior Duo won SILVER in their category .The competitors
were Emily and Breanna.
In Interclub competition Level 2, Natasha won BRONZE for her free routine.
In Level 2 blue, Meagan won GOLD in all three categories – free, rope, and overall.
Myranda won BRONZE in the all three categories - free, rope and overall.
In Level 4 blue, Lauren gave a very competitive performance coming in fourth place in free routine, fifth with her ball routine and fifth overall.
In Level 5 blue, Emily won GOLD overall after winning GOLD in her free routine, SILVER in rope and GOLD in ribbon.
Caitlin took BRONZE in all categories – free, rope, ribbon and overall.
In Level 5 Red, Breanna won GOLD with her rope routine, SILVER with her ball routine, BRONZE with her ribbon routine and came back with a SILVER medal overall.
In Level 6 Blue, Jennifer won SILVER overall after winning BRONZE with her free routine, SILVER with her hoop routine and SILVER for her ribbon routine.

The Kanata Cup overall team trophy was won by the team from Ottawa Rhythmic Gymnastics Club. The competition was held at Bridlewood Elementary School, located at 63 Bluegrass Drive in Kanata. Participants ranged in age from 8 to 17 years and included all levels of provincial and interclub stream individual and group competitors.
