2004 KANATA CUP INVITATIONAL WAS A GREAT SUCCESS!

The weekend of February 21-22, 2004 marked the annual Kanata Cup Invitational Rhythmic Gymnastics competition, which was hosted by the Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastics Club.

The six gymnasts from the KRSG Club gave strong performances at the Competition, winning seven gold, seven silver, and seven bronze medals for a total of twenty-one medals.

In group competition, the Kanata Senior Duo won GOLD in their category .The competitors were Kara and Jessie.

In Level 4 red, Breanna won GOLD with her ribbon routine, SILVER with her ball routine, SILVER with her free routine and came back with a GOLD medal overall.

In Level 5 blue, Emily won SILVER overall after finishing 6th in her free routine, winning GOLD in rope and GOLD in her ribbon routine.

In Level 5 blue, Marie finished 5th overall after finishing 4th in her free routine, winning BRONZE in rope and finishing 7th in ribbon routine.

In Level 6 Blue, Jennifer won GOLD overall after winning GOLD with her rope, hoop and ribbon routines.

In Level 6 red, Jessie won SILVER overall after winning GOLD in her rope routine, BRONZE in hoop and GOLD in clubs.

In Level 6 red, Kara won GOLD overall after winning SILVER in her rope routine, GOLD in hoop and SILVER in clubs.

The Kanata Cup overall team trophy was won by the team from Ottawa Rhythmic Gymnastics Club. The competition was held at Bridlewood Elementary School, located at 63 Bluegrass Drive in Kanata. Participants ranged in age from 8 to 17 years and included all levels of provincial and interclub stream individual and group competitors.
