Kanata Rhythmic Sportive Gymnastic Club

Teams from the Kanata Rhythmic Gymnastics Club participated in their very own Kanata Showcase Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition held May 27, 2007 at Bridlewood Elementary School.

Aesthetic Group Gymnastics is a form of Rhythmic Gymnastics, where at the Interclub level teams perform two routines in a competition. The Free routine is a choreographed set of movements including swings, leaps, balances and pivots. In the Creative routine imaginations go wild as the teams perform a routine set to a theme with appropriate music and costumes. This years themes include:
Level 1 -- Cartoons
Level 2 -- Movie Themes
Level 3 -- Ethnic Themes
Level 4 -- Dance Styles (i.e.: flamingo, danse oriental, salsa)
Level 5 -- All Things French

Competing in Level 1, the Kanata Rising Stars finished 3rd with their Free routine with a total score of 8.100.

KRSG's pre-competitive group competed courageously in Level 1. The Kanata Kittens, KRSG's recreational performance group, finished 1st in their Creative 2 routine with a total score of 5.5917 and finished 4th in Level 1 Free with a total score of 6.7667.

The Kanata Energy finished 3rd Overall, with a total score of 20.325 after placing 2nd with their Creative 1 routine and 4th with their Free routine.

In Level 2, the Kanata Energy finished 2nd Overall, with a total score of 18.7833 after finishing 3rd with their Creative routine and 2nd with their Free routine.

In Level 3, the Kanata Spirit finished 1st Overall, with a total score of 20.7583 after finishing 1st with their Creative routine and 1st with their Free routine.

In Level 5, the Kanata Mystique, who were competing in their 1st ever competition, finished 1st with their Free routine. 11.3167

In Provincial AGG competition, the Kanata Pre-Novice Group finished 1st Overall, with a total score of 11.3167.

Several special awards were also  given to the groups at the end of the day. Special Awards for AGG were The Most Fun went to Kanata Kittens, The Most United Team went to the Kanata Spirit, The Most Graceful Routine went to the Pirouette Elite for their Free routine, The Most Original Routine went to the Kanata Energy for their Aladdin routine, The Most Spirited Team went to the Pirouette Butterflies, The Biggest Smiles award went to the Kanata Pre-Novice AGG and The Spirit of AGG was awarded to the Pirouette Shooting Stars.

Special Awards for the Interclub Group & Individual went to The Most Fun went to the Kanata Level 3 Duo, Most Energetic Routine went to Samara Aiken, The Most Graceful Routine went to the Pirouette Level 3 Trio, The Most Original Routine went to the Kanata Level 5 Duo, The Biggest Smile award went to Ember Forbes.

The KRSG Club is one of the largest and longest standing rhythmic clubs in Canada, and is a member in good standing of Gymnastics Ontario. The club is a full-service club, and is proud to have provided high quality rhythmic gymnastics programs to girls in Kanata and the surrounding area.
