June 05, 2006

Teams from the Kanata Rhythmic Gymnastics Club participated in the our very own Kanata Showcase Aesthetic Group Gymnastics Competition held June 04, 2006 at Bridlewood Elementary School. A total of 40 gymnasts represented the Kanata RSG Club at this event and it was the first ever competition for three (3) of KRSG's Aesthetic Groups.

Aesthetic Group Gymnastics is a form of Rhythmic Gymnastics, where at the Interclub level teams perform two routines in a competition. The Free routine is a choreographed set of movements including swings, leaps, balances and pivots. In the Creative routine imaginations go wild as the teams perform a routine set to a theme with appropriate music and costumes. This years themes include:
Level 1 -- Cartoons
Level 2 -- Movie Themes
Level 3 -- Ethnic Themes
Level 4 -- Dance Styles (i.e.: flamingo, danse oriental, salsa)
Level 5 -- All Things French
