KRSG gymnasts recently competed in 2 Provincial Qualifying competitions. These competitions are for a berth into the Ontario Provincial
Championships. Provincial Individual gymnast must compete in both Provincial Qualifiers and based on the combined results must place in the top 60% to be eligible for the Provincial Championships. Athletes who compete in only one Qualifier and athletes who do not place in the top 60% will not be eligible to compete in the Provincial Championships but will be eligible to compete in RhythmFest. In the case of a level with seven or less all athletes will proceed to Provincial Championships.
KRSG’s provincial rhythmic competitive team gave energetic, graceful and dynamic performances in both Qualifiers held April 5-6, 2008 and May 10-11, 2008. The first Qualifier, hosted by Silhouettes of York RG Club, saw KRSG gymnast perform well and return home with numerous medals and 4th - 8th place ribbons to show for their efforts. (21 medals -
9 Gold, 7 Silver and 5 Bronze. 12 Ribbons, 3 Fourth place, 3 Fifth place, 3 Seventh place and
3 Eighth place).
The second Qualifier, hosted by Ritmika Jusco RG Club, saw KRSG gymnast perform well again in a very tough competition and return home with several medals and 4th - 8th place ribbons to show for their hard work and efforts. (26 medals - 11 Gold, 12 Silver and 3 Bronze and 7 Ribbons - 2 Fourth place, 1 Fifth place, 1 Sixth place, 1 Seventh place and 2 Eighth place).
This year 11 of KRSG’s 18 Provincial Individual gymnast advanced to the provincial championships which will be held on June 7-8, 2008 hosted by York Stars RG Club. While 7 will attend Rhythmfest on June 8, 2008 also hosted by York Stars RG Club.
Baylianne (Level 1B) ranked 7th in the 1st qualifier and 2nd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 3rd place overall.
Julia (Level 2-A) ranked 10th in the 1st qualifier and 11th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 11th place overall.
Melinda (Level 2-A) ranked 13th in the 1st qualifier and 12th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 12th place overall.
Donya (Level 3-A) ranked 11th in the 1st qualifier and 14th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 13th place overall.
Marie (Level 3-A) ranked 4th in the 1st qualifier and 2nd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 2nd place overall.
Sarah (Level 3-A) ranked 7th in the 1st qualifier and 5th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 6th place overall.
Christine (Level 4-A) ranked 19th in the 1st qualifier and 20th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 19th place overall.
Elizabeth (Level 4-A) ranked 9th in the 1st qualifier and 12th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 12th place overall.
Jenna (Level 4-A) ranked 10th in the 1st qualifier and 8th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 7th place overall.
Sarah (Level 4-A) ranked 5th in the 1st qualifier and 1st in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 3rd place overall.
Lucinda (Level 4-B) ranked 22nd in the 1st qualifier and 14th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 19th place overall.
Megan (Level 4-B) ranked 5th in the 1st qualifier and 12th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 9th place overall.
Myranda (Level 4-B) ranked 14th in the 1st qualifier and 15th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 15th place overall.
Lauren (Level 5-A) ranked 16th in the 1st qualifier and 16th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 16th place overall.
Brianna (Level 5-C) ranked 12th in the 1st qualifier and 9th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for RhythmFest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 11th place overall.
Caitlin (Level 6-A) ranked 2nd in the 1st qualifier and 2nd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 2nd place overall.
Emily (Level 6-A) ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 1st in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 1st place overall.
Breanna (Level 6-B) ranked 2nd in the 1st qualifier and 1st in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 1st place overall.
KRSG's 2 Provincial RG Groups and 3 AGG Groups advanced to the Provincial Championships as well.
The Novice Duo, Myranda and Megan, ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 2nd in the 2nd qualifier. They qualified for Provincials and their combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified them in 1st place overall.
The Senior Duo, Breanna and Emily, ranked 3rd in the 1st qualifier and 2nd in the 2nd qualifier. They qualified for Provincials and their combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified them in 2nd place overall.
The Child AGG Group ranked 2nd in the 1st qualifier and 3rd in the 2nd qualifier. They qualified for Provincials
and their combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified them in 2nd place overall.
The Pre-Novice AGG Group ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 1st in the 2nd qualifier. They qualified for Provincials
and their combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified them in 1st place overall.
The Junior AGG Group ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 1st in the 2nd qualifier. They qualified for Provincials
and their combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified them in 1st place overall.
