This year for the first time there will be 2 Provincial Qualifying Competitions. Overall scores from the 2 Qualifiers are totalled and the top 60% of Individual athletes from each level will advance to the Provincial Championships. In the case of a level with 7 or less gymnast, all 7 or less athletes will proceed to Provincial Championships. The remaining 40% of Individual athletes from each level will advance to the Provincial RhythmFest Competition.
KRSG’s provincial rhythmic competitive team gave dynamic performances in the two Provincial Championship Qualifiers held April 1-2, 2006 and April 29-30, 2006. The first Qualifier, hosted by Kalev Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, saw KRSG gymnast perform very well and return home with numerous medals and 4th - 8th place ribbons to show for their efforts. (16 medals - 9 Gold, 6 Silver and 1 Bronze. 14 Ribbons, 4 Fourth place, 5 Fifth place, 3 Sixth place and 2 Seventh place). The second Qualifier, hosted by York Stars Rhythmic Gymnastics Club, saw KRSG gymnast perform well again and return home with several medals and 4th - 8th place ribbons to show for their efforts. (10 medals - 4 Gold, 1 Silver and 5 Bronze and 18 Ribbons - 9 Fourth place, 3 Fifth place, 1 Sixth place and 5 Seventh place).
This year 10 of KRSG’s 13 Provincial gymnast advanced to the provincial championships scheduled to take place in Cambridge on May 27th and 28th. While 3 will attend Rhythmfest on May 27, 2006.
Jennifer (Level 6-A) ranked 1st in both qualifiers. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 1st place overall.
Breanna (Level 5-B) ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 3rd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 2nd place overall.
Emily (Level 5-A) ranked 1st in the 1st qualifier and 4th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 3rd place overall.
Caitlin (Level 5-A) ranked 15th in the 1st qualifier and 9th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 12th place overall.
Christine (Level 4-A) ranked 20th in the 1st qualifier and 23rd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 22nd place overall.
Lauren (Level 4-A) ranked 18th in the 1st qualifier and 15th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 17th place overall.
Lucinda (Level 4-A) ranked 6th in the 1st qualifier and 14th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 10th place overall.
Jenna (Level 3-A) ranked 14th in the 1st qualifier and 16th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Rhythmfest and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 16th place overall.
Megan (Level 3-A) ranked 2nd in the 1st qualifier and 4th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 3rd place overall.
Myranda (Level 3-A) ranked 6th in the 1st qualifier and 7th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 7th place overall.
Zoë (Level 2-B) ranked 5th in the 1st qualifier and 3rd in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 5th place overall.
Sarah (Level 2-A) ranked 2nd in the 1st qualifier and 5th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 3rd place overall.
Marie (Level 1-B) ranked 7th in the 1st qualifier and 7th in the 2nd qualifier. She qualified for Provincials and her combined qualifier 1 and 2 totals qualified her in 7th place overall.
