The 2006 Rhythmic Gymnastics Provincial Championships and RhythmFest, hosted by Cambridge Kips Gymnastics Club at Monsignor Doyle Catholic Secondary in Cambridge on May 27-28, featured some of the best in the sport from clubs across Ontario. Audiences were treated to beautifully choreographed routines which included free and routines using apparatus such as ropes, hoops, clubs, balls and ribbon.
KRSG’s, 13 gymnast, provincial rhythmic competitive team gave outstanding performances at both Provincials and RhythmFest despite
the extremely hot and humid conditions inside the gym. KRSG gymnast returned home with 1 overall Provincial Champion title plus numerous
medals and 4th - 8th place ribbons to show for their efforts. (12 medals - 6 Gold, 4 Silver and 2 Bronze plus 30
Ribbons - 7 Fourth place, 6 Fifth place, 5 Sixth place, 6 Seventh place and 6 Eighth place).
Kanata Junior Duo (Breanna and Caitlin) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 6th for their overall performance.
Jennifer (Level 6-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and won a GOLD medal
with her Ribbon and Rope Routines and a SILVER medal with her Hoop routine and won the GOLD medal for her overall performance. She also won the title of Provincial Champion for her level. Congratulations Jenn!
Breanna (Level 5-B) competed at the Provincial Championships and won a BRONZE medal
in her Rope Routine, finished 7th in Ribbon, 8th in Ball and finished in 7th for her overall performance.
Emily (Level 5-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and won a SILVER medal
in her Free Routine, finished 5th in Ribbon, 8th in Rope and finished in 4th for her overall performance.
Caitlin (Level 5-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 6th in her
Rope Routine, 8th in Ribbon, 11th in Free and finished in 8th for her overall performance.
Christine (Level 4-A) competed at RhythmFest and finished 5th in Free Routine, 5th in
Ball and finished in 5th for her overall performance.
Lauren (Level 4-A) competed at RhythmFest and won a SILVER medal in Free Routine,
a GOLD medal in Ball and won the GOLD medal for her overall performance.
Lucinda (Level 4-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 4th in Free
Routine, 8th in Ball and finished in 6th for her overall performance.
Jenna (Level 3-A) competed at RhythmFest and finished 4th in Free Routine, 4th in Hoop
and finished in 4th for her overall performance.
Megan (Level 3-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and won a GOLD medal in
her Hoop Routine, 5th in Free and won the BRONZE medal for her overall performance.
Myranda (Level 3-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 9th in Free
Routine, 7th in Hoop and finished in 8th for her overall performance.
Zoë (Level 2-B) competed at the Provincial Championships and won a SILVER medal in
her Free Routine, 5th in Ball and finished in 4th for her overall performance.
Sarah (Level 2-A) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 4th in Free
Routine, 7th in Rope and finished in 6th for her overall performance.
Marie (Level 1-B) competed at the Provincial Championships and finished 10th in Free
Routine, 7th in Rope and finished in 7th for her overall performance.
